Teacup Tuesday on Wednesday.

This is the teacup I was planning to post yesterday. But I found a book that I just had to buy called Altered Art Circus, and after bringing it home and studying it for hours I had to rush out to "The Warehouse" and buy some two dollar picture frames, and charge the electric drill, and remind my son to bring home his laptop and show me how to use photoshop!!!!
The tea cup was forgotten in the excitement I'm afraid. Now the kitchen is a complete mess of glue and preparations for "altered art'. More of that another day!

My in laws gave me this gorgeous teacup for Christmas.
I just adore it.

This is what the world looks like through my window today.
It's been like that for days now. So cold. I stay inside with my projects.
Just venturing out to hang out washing and do my compulsory walking.
That's how I ended up in the book shop where there was 25 percent off craft books,
and the Altered Art Circus Book.

I'm making this bag for my Mum's friend Val,
who gave me the lovely chair to slipcover, and the fab crocheted doilies.
I blogged about it here.

I'm also working on a hat and mittens for my great nephew Cooper.
They're from this pattern book from the early 1990s.
It's Burda, and absolutely fabulous. I've made a lot of these patterns.

I also managed to order a copy of the July issue of BBC Homes and Antiques, which features the fab Happy Harris's house. She totally inspires me all the time, and I love her decorating style and her sense of humour.

I am featured as a guest blogger on Glorybox Textiles at present, in which I divulge long kept family secrets about wartime under ware and how far away the dunny was at the bottom of my grandmother's garden. It's true; all under the ruse of discussing family heirloom textiles created by my grandmother and her sister Leila, and their lives in suburban Melbourne and Country Victoria. If you feel compelled to know how far the dunny was and other important facts, as well as looking at some cool photos of doilies; take a look.
It's called The Tale of two Sisters.
Stay warm all you Southern hemisphere blog chics.

  9. So....pretty. Your blog, the photos....so pretty. I have a confession to make. I'm not a real valley girl. I'm just a good old country girl that lives in a beautiful valley in south eastern Washington state. We live at the foothills of some smallish mountains called the Blue Mountains. I'm a valley girl with dirt under her finger nails, well worn work gloves and a good farmers tan!! So fun to get to "visit" you in your lovely home. Cheers!
